During the spring cleaning of my closet, I preferred to refresh rather than donate some of my dresses. The one I show you today is a black dress, fitted at the waist, with a cowl neck. A dress that I love the shape, but not its deep neckline.
Here is the dress before refashioning. Simple, classic, and a bit too sexy.
I decided to fix the heart of the problem, which was the neckline. Right sides together, I folded the dress on its center front line. I pinned and then draft a new neckline, much deeper than the first one.
Once I cut out the superfluous fabric, I drew the outline of the new neckline on a paper. This was the pattern for the neckline facing that I chose a in bright and colorful fabric.
The final result is closer to a cool skirt with suspenders than to a business dress. Easy to wear and to mix with t-shirts and various sweaters.

C’est chouette ! J’aime beaucoup le fait que ce soit à la fois original et rigolo, et en même temps super élégant !
this is so clever – totally love it more than the original dress, 🙂
