
The cape is the best sewing exercise for beginners. Too difficult to muff it. You only need to find the right fabric and pattern. When doing my shopping at Saint-Pierre Market, I came across a pretty fantastic woolen cloth, lace-woven, with rosy and black tracery. The material is so beautiful and fragile that only a cape could bring it out.
Lined, folded, quickly sewn, it becomes a shoulder warmer / bolero that perfectly goes with ultra-casual outfit. I added two Chinese Frog closures to prevent the cape from slipping over the shoulders. I can also put it on one shoulder only or wear it as a scarf around the neck. Simple and chic. This is cool! I made something similar (it’s the red thing for May the 28th) out of knit fabric from a japanese book but I didn’t think to make it in a woven and line it! Good work.
