A bloomy suit

I like wearing suits in summer. With neat and clear shapes, to be taken seriously, but in cheerful fabrics to avoid a bossy look.

This is a suit that I sewed last year. I wanted to practice the reverse collar and the welt pocket. The first was a success, the second was such a failure that I had to cut out the bottom of the jacket from the waist. You see the final cropped version, and not the former one, more classical.

The fabric is a thick printed cotton, heavy enough to spare me the interfacing part. The pants were made according to the basic pattern, which I’ve already shared it here.

I wear the two pieces together for the photos, but in my every day life, I wear them separately. It brings a touch of color without overwhelming the whole look.

  1. Oh my life – beautiful, they do work really well together but can see how they would lift an outfit independently ; Love the shape of the jacket – just shows a mistake can create a masterpiece 🙂

    • Thank you Amanda, I love to wear the jacket with a crop top and plain shorts and the pants with a white Tee or a silk blouse. Actually I have never worn the suit together after the photo session.
